Myanmar is not like any western nation country. It only has two cities over a million. And only a handful of what we would consider medium sized cities.
It is one of South East Asia’s most forested nations. It is covered with jungles and evergreen rain forests and teak and pine forests. Most of the population lives in tiny villages with rice paddies and homes built with bamboo. To navigate to these villages, you need to ride a motor bike. These missionaries leave their families for weeks at a time on a little motor bike and go out to these villages to spread the gospel and minister to them and help them build bamboo churches and train them to share the gospel with those around them.
WHY WE EXIST
Myanmar faced a military takeover in 2021. Violence spread, families fled, and access for outside aid tightened. Churches and local ministries kept serving anyway. Needs grew fast. Food. Medicine. Shelter. Pastors and missionaries stayed with their communities when many others could not.
OUR BEGINNING
Cin Cin Morton grew up in Chin State and served in local ministry. She later moved to Winston-Salem, North Carolina after marriage, but her ties to Myanmar stayed close. After the coup, she and her husband started sending support to trusted pastors and missionaries they already knew. Friends joined in. What began as personal giving became a steady network of help.
FORMING THE MINISTRY
That informal effort turned into Myanmar Outreach Mission so support could scale and stay accountable. The goal was simple. Keep local workers on the field. Keep help moving even when travel is blocked. Keep reporting clear so donors know where funds go.
WHAT WE SUPPORT
Monthly support for local pastors and missionaries so they can feed their families and continue ministry.
Food parcels for displaced families and widows.
Basic medical care and emergency help.
Bibles and discipleship materials in local languages.
Transportation where safe, such as motorbikes or fuel, so workers reach remote villages.
Rebuilding for damaged churches and homes when conditions allow.
Targeted relief after major events, including the March 28, 2025 earthquake.
WHY LOCAL WORKERS
Local workers know the language, culture, and terrain. They move with fewer checkpoints, fewer delays, and better information. When borders close or flights stop, local workers are still there. This is the fastest path from a gift to a family that needs it.
HOW WE WORK
We partner only with people we know or who are vouched for by leaders we trust. Each transfer is logged. Field teams send confirmations and simple receipts when possible. We adjust support routes when security changes. We never post details that would put partners at risk.
STEWARDSHIP AND TRANSPARENCY
Our team is volunteer. Administrative costs stay low. We track gifts, share updates, and focus spending on food, medicine, ministry support, and crisis response. When we fund a project, we close the loop with photos or written updates as conditions allow.
RESULTS YOU MAKE POSSIBLE
Families receive staple foods for the month.
Children get treated for common illnesses.
Pastors stay in their communities rather than leave to find work.
Congregations meet again in repaired buildings.
Villages hear the gospel through local outreach, small groups, and care for the displaced.
WHAT COMES NEXT
Needs are ongoing. Conflict continues in many regions. Prices for food and fuel are high. Communication can be cut without notice. Even so, local churches keep serving. Our role is to keep them supplied and encouraged, month after month.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
Sponsor monthly. Consistent giving keeps pastors and missionaries on the field.
Give one time. Your gift fills gaps for food, medicine, and crisis response.
Pray. Safety, wisdom, and open doors matter every day.
Share. Tell a friend who cares about Myanmar and wants their giving to reach people fast.
OUR PROMISE
We will move support through trusted local partners. We will report back as we receive updates. We will protect identities when needed. We will keep the focus on people in need and the workers serving them.
With your help, families eat, patients receive care, and the gospel reaches places that are hard to reach.
